🇮🇳 Haryana's Daughter Kamya Bhardwaj Creates History - Crosses English Channel in 14 Hours 19 Minutes 🇬🇧

On 22nd September 2026, Kamya Bhardwaj, a young open water swimmer from Gurugram, Haryana, successfully crossed the English Channel in 14 hours 19 minutes.

Official Swim Details:
Solo Swim: Kamya Bhardwaj (Indian) | Swim No: 186s | Boat: Gallivant (Tanya Harding, Jake Boner, Paul Lambert) | Observer: Yoel Pimentel | Start: Shakespeare Beach, Dover at 05:35 AM | End: Cap Gris Nez, France at 07:54 PM (19:54) | Total Time: 14:19 - Swim Successful

Braving the extremely cold water, strong currents and jellyfish of the English Channel, Kamya faced every challenge with courage and determination.

Pushed to the limit at the finish: At the final stage, the pilot informed that if the speed was not increased, it would take at least 17 hours to finish due to the strong current. Kamya increased her speed to 4.5 km per hour and completed the channel in just 14 hours 19 minutes.

It is noteworthy that Kamya Bhardwaj is the first female swimmer from Haryana to cross the English Channel. Earlier this year, she had created an Indian National Record by completing the Double-Way Palk Strait in 18 hours 15 minutes.

Her ultimate dream is to become one of the youngest swimmers in the world to complete the Seven Oceans. In the coming months, she will also take on the challenges of Cook Strait and North Channel.

Behind Kamya's historic success is her years of hard work, along with the unwavering support and sacrifices of her entire family and all her near and dear ones, who have stood firmly with her to fulfill her dream.
